Ladies of Twitter: Cocktail Hour — Episode 5- “Zesty Blast with Kathy Irvine”

The camera pans across the set as the episode begins and we see Tyler making her way out onto the set, walking up onto the stage and getting finishes touches done on her hair and makeup. Cameras then shift to Kathy, as she walks out onto the stage to greet Tyler.

Tyler: Hello Mrs. Irvine! It’s lovely to see you! *stands to greet Kathy*

Kathy: Hello Miss Newman-Scott! Can I hug you? *laughs* You were fabulous on the show! I’m a huge fan of yours! *smiles*

Tyler: *hugs Kathy* Oh, you’re too sweet, I’m happy to meet you! Another Twitter boutique owner, well, former in my case since I packed up and headed West. *laughs*

Kathy: *laughs* We have lots in common! I may have to pick your brain about a thing or two after this interview!

Tyler: Definitely! Let’s sit on my lovely outdoor sofa! *sits down* Hello, I am Tyler Newman and welcome to the Ladies of Twitter: Cocktail Hour! Tonight, I’m joined in my garden by the lovely Kathy Irvine!

Kathy: I am so happy to be here this evening Tyler! Thanks for having me.

Tyler: Well without further ado *claps hands* Let’s set the mood! OH CHET!

Then, the camera turns as we see a shirtless bartender making his way out onto the stage holding a tray with two beautiful cocktails…

Tyler: Chet is our shirtless bartender of the night and he’s here to make sure Kathy and I drink and dish. *laughs*

Kathy: Oh my god! Is this an everyday thing at the Newman household?

Tyler: *laughs* I’ll have to plead the fifth and ask the questions. Tonight, I’ve prepared a signature cocktail for our little hangout! I call it the Zesty Blast, it’s a healthy little drink that packs a big punch, with green tea, peach juice, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and a healthy dose of bourbon. *laughs*

Kathy: *picks up a cocktail* So I’m sure you’re dying to get into these questions! Let’s see what you got for this powerhouse.

Tyler: *laughs* So you call yourself a powerhouse, how about you share a bit about your life with the viewers? *takes a cocktail*

Kathy: My life is crazy hectic. The viewers can expect to get a glimpse of my life running a business, my trying relationships with my mother, you’ll also get to see my sweet James but I’ve usually got him hooked up doing housework! You’ll also see my relationship with the girls go through some rocky times! I’m a straight shooter and the truth is always on my side!

Tyler: So let’s chat about your business, I know you have several handbag boutiques, is that right?

Kathy: I have two boutiques and a section in Neiman Marcus! My business was started solely by me when I divorced my first husband, Joe. It took a lot for me to get where I am today. Lots of hussle, and of course, I got doubt from some. Even my own mother!

Tyler: Nothing like that first divorce glow up, I know that’s right. *laughs* I just traded up rings and ran to the next man.

Kathy: Yes exactly. *laughs* Those were some super challenging times for me. I am lucky to have my wonderful husband of 8 years James Irvine!

Tyler: I can only imagine. So, let’s talk about your home life, is it just you and your husband?

Kathy: *laughs* James wishes it was just us. But no, my mother lives in a mother in law house right outside in our backyard!

Tyler: Oh wow, that must make for an interesting household. *laughs* Any kids?

Kathy: Oh *tears up* I knew this question would be asked. I do have an estranged daughter that I had at 16. My mother made me give her up for adoption because of my age and the fact she wanted me successful. Can I get another tissue? This is just really hard for me to talk about…

Tyler: *hands Kathy a tissue* Oh my god, I’m so sorry.

Kathy: It’s okay. I knew this question would be brought up. I just feel horrible about it. I beat myself up everyday about it

Tyler: It’s alright, let’s just drink and not beat anyone up. How was it highlighting a marriage on this show? I speak from experience in that it can be quite tough.

Kathy: It wasn’t bad for James and I. As soon as I was casted, I knew we needed to get in marriage counseling. When you’re on shows like this, you have to put it all out there and that can be challenging.

Tyler: Wow, that’s funny, I actually was in marriage counseling my first season. But not because I was going on the show *laughs* One final question about you, what was it like being on television with your mother? I can’t imagine.

Kathy: *laughs* Oh, my mother, she loves that damn camera, I tell you! I think she’s been more excited about my experience than I am. She and I have a very rocky relationships so the viewers will see how we navigate through it all.

Tyler: Oh wow, I’m looking forward to watching! Kathy Irvine, it is GAME TIME!

Kathy: Let’s see what games you got for me. I got the answers for you! The REAL ones *laughs*

Tyler: Tonight, we’ll be playing a round of Pros and Cons! Here’s how it will work, I will give you the name of your costars and one by one, you’ll tell me a nice thing about them and a negative. We get messy here, Mrs. Irvine! *laughs* You ready?

Kathy: Oh, this is gonna be interesting. Hopefully they still talk to me after this *laughs*

Tyler: Let’s go! First up is Rose!

Kathy: Ahh, my blockbuster actress!! She’s a hustler and is a great friend. Her downfall would be that she’s absent half the time! She’s MIA half the season. *laughs*

Tyler: Oh my! This girl I knew, Jac Carter, used to do a disappearing act. *laughs* Next up is…Grace Whitworth.

Kathy: Oh God, do I have to talk about her? *laughs* I’m kidding. She has nice fake teeth and her new facelift looks really good! Very youthful. Her downfall would that she is just a fraud and a liar.

Tyler: *spits her drink out slightly* This girl is funny, somebody put her on TV. *laughs* Next up we have…Luciana Donatella!

Kathy: Oh, that firecracker. Her pro is that she genuinely means well and really has a heart of gold, but her drinks always get in the way of her golden heart. I think she’s very misunderstood and I really tried this season to help her show her heart of gold because we’ve been friends for ten plus years.

Tyler: Oh wow, it’s wonderful when a friend is there with you. Next up, we have Amal Hadid.

Kathy: Is she even a cast member? *looks confused*

Tyler: Oops *laughs* Shade!

Kathy: I mean seriously I thought she was a solider of Grace’s?

Tyler: I think all the soldiers are down at the nearest Army Base, is that where she lives?

Kathy: Well that’s where Grace sells her homes at, so I wouldn’t doubt it! Let me stop, the drinks are getting to me! *laughs* What did you put in these Miss Newman?

Tyler: The shade doesn’t stop, I want you to keep drinking. *laughs* And finally, we have Elle Stonewood!

Kathy: Oh, our Nicole Kidman!! She’s a blonde bombshell! She’s everything and more in life. She comes across classy, but she will read you like class is in session. I would say her downfall is she doesn’t stand up for herself enough. I think the girls really tried to bulldoze her this season, and I can’t wait for everyone to see the treacherous two in action.

Tyler: Wow…thanks for playing Pros and Cons, Kathy! We have just a few more questions for you. Was there drama this season that shocked you?

Kathy: Yes, there’s lots of drama I was shocked by this season, and lots of surprises from people you would expect. Alliances definitely switch up a few times this season.

Tyler: That’s so exciting, were you ever surprised with how you reacted to another Lady over the course of the season? Did they push your buttons?

Kathy: I am shocked and mortified by my actions a few times. In fact you will see me at one point with my cast members chase her out of a building. *laughs* It wasn’t one of my greatest moments

Tyler: That sounds insane, I can’t wait to watch. One final question that I’ve been asking all my guests, how would you describe this season in one sentence?

Kathy: I would say it’s definitely a season of truth, and we all lay it out there. The good, the bad, and the ugly, and we may not all get along but we are Ladies of Twitter, and that is a bond for life. I’m sure you could agree Tyler!
